Sigh with Martin leaving for Aberdeen in 2 months' time and with university starting in a month's time, I really have to brace myself for all the changes that are to come; Somehow, it all feels de javu to me: 2009 - New house, new school, new friends, new workload. Look what happened. But this time, I'm not going to screw things up. It's a second chance that God has given me, and I'm going to make things right.

The road will be tough. But where's the fun if it were to be easy?

I'm actually rather excited for this.

OK, so NSSN, the post-NSSN chalet and section outing are all over.
This is so saddening!

The chalet yesterday was the best everrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Nicole, Yan yao, dionne, Thomas, Reggie, Jason, Joshua, Samuel, Lee guan and I went midnight cycling!
It was so spooky, yet it was so freakin' thrilling.
The guys crack my up like crazy.
I reached home at about, 1.30am?
My legs were dead sore. [I haven't exercised in a million years!]
Food was awesome, people were awesome, weather was awesome.
What better could there be?

Anyway, I started work at PS today.
Man, I almost died, judging the time that I slept last night/this morning.
Super energy consuming.
To treat myself a little after my first day at work, I went pooling with the 2 BLs at Meridien.
Haven't pooled in a long time. Kept missing the stupid hole.
I won 1 game, but that's cos Brandon shot the black ball into the wrong hole.
I guess that's not counted, boo.
He came over to my house after that, and FIXED THE INTERNET!

Past few days were like, a roller coaster ride.

eXcess camp from friday to today.
Fun-ish, but I guess it wasn't as nice as last year's.

After camp, I went home to shower, and then to confirmation mass at Holy Spirit.

During both times, he gives me that look, saying "HAH".

After mass, we went to give flowers to Kelly, Rae, Esther, Kenneth and Andrea.
The place was so chaotic; It was so difficult to find them!

Damn, helluva bus ride. Read Nicholas Sparks's Dear John and got motion sick after a while, so I stopped.
I guess I was kinda day-dreaming and floating in and out of sleep, that's why I almost missed my stop. Lucky Ingmar reminded, or it'll end up like the trip TO practice in the morning.
I swear, I'm the blur-est person alive.

Can you believe I did this in the morning; I took the right bus, but the wrong way.
Probably the morning sleepiness.

I accidently left my black specs in the bus on the way home yesterday.
I'm stuck with my old frameless ones now.
Disgusting.

I think the concert went pretty well.

Die Fledermaus was pretty alright, just that it became a little messy at the start of the 3rd act.
That is one regret I'll live with for the rest of my life.
I really want to rewind, and play it again, this time, BETTER.
It was so well played during the rehearsal before the concert!
I just don't understand.

I'll make up for this by playing every single note correctly, for the VJ concert.

WHEEEE, ITS IJ BAND CONCERT TOMORROW.

I've been self-practicing just now, for the 4sticks part for Thank You For The Music.
I just can't do it. I don't know why.

Anyway, I went shopping with mum yesterday in town.
The original purpose was to buy my black blouse and pants for the 2concerts, but we ended up buying so much more.
SHE ended up buying so much more.
Judging by my mum's thrifty character, I was quite surprised that she was willing to spend the big bucks yesterday.
She bought $275 worth of SHU UEMURA products from Taka. LIKE OMG.
Shoes from Charles and Keith.
Clothes from Metro and G2000.

Wahhhhh.

I earned myself a headache after the trip.

Oh, and the fitting rooms in Metro are the LARGEST I've ever been to.
Like, whoooo.

Then, I heard from Zena that Shannen had to go for an emergency operation.
My heart DROPPED. I was wondering, is that a good thing, or a bad thing?
I mean, it might be a good thing such that Shan would get well faster after the operation, right?

Operation was a success, but she's still in a critical condition :(

Something cool happened during band prac at VJC today, haha.
It was after Galaxy Express ( !#%&@*$ ), during which I was reading my Nicholas Sparks book
cause I had no parts to play.
I hid behind the marimba where Sir couldn't see me.
I guess he noticed that I mia-ed.

So when I stood up to wait to be given a part for the next song,
Sir winked at me.
So duh, I smiled back.

Then then then!
During that next song, I played a tambourine [ off-beats ] part.
He praised me! My gosh.
I think both Thomas and Reggie played equally well- Heck, it was only a tambourine part I was playing- so I guess it was biasness.
Still.

Tomorrow, I'll be going down to Metro with my mum to find a black blouse and dress pants for the IJ Band concert this saturday.

Ok, this is one heck of a holiday/post-olevel period.

Shan got hit by some irresponsible drunk driver, and is in ICU now.
I went to see her last night. My goodness, I know I should've held back my tears and provide some support for her mum instead. Stupid me.

So now, I'll have to take over her snare drum part for Die Fladermaus.
I was so nervous sight-reading today.. I mean, I was playing it for the first time while the rest of the band had been playing it since June!
It wasn't so bad, but I'm extremely sure Shan played better.

Sigh, concert is this saturday, and today's my first and last practice.
HOW, TELL ME.
I know Mr Tan was super nice to me cause he knows that it was my first time playing, but I'm not quite happy with my own performance today.

Stupid school hall. So much echo..
My off-beats were all over the place.

After band practice, I went to visit Shan at KK.
Still unconcious.

Anyway, I've been finding myself looking forward to every band practice at VJC.

I guess I was really bummed out about how everything I've been looking forward to crashes down on me. Grandfather passing away.. Inability to go to the chalet at all..

Well, I did go for the chalet, when they were checking out.
I felt really out of place there.

I've decided not to wear my ugly old black spectacles to prom. I've no contact lenses [ cause me mawther thinks that the probability of the lenses rolling to the back of the eyeballs is 1 ]. It'll be blurry, but I won't be blind. That's good- I won't end up spending the whole night comparing myself with other people in their pretty little dresses and makeup. I always lose in these comparisons, which kinda drowns my self-esteem pretty badly.

I've been playing minesweeper for the whole day, and have not done anything productive at all!
This is the ultimate.

Anyway, mom, dad and I sent val off at the airport this morning.
I, unwillingly.

Seriously, this girl is insane, studying only on the week before the Os.
I know, I know.

Last day of school today was horrible, having to collect so much money from my fellow, broke classmates.
And I'm doing this right smack in the middle of the recession. How ironic.

Seriously, I feel terrible collecting the money from them.
$6 worth of Geog notes EACH. I'm quite sure not everyone's gonna use them.
Mrs Tan should have asked how many people wanted the notes before sending them for printing.
It DEVASTATED our funds so terribly.

On top of that, there were bio and chem papers to be paid for as well.
I literally DIED while collecting money from the class, because 4/4 really isn't the..
most cooperative class.
I still love 4/4 anyway (:

I felt like a loanshark.

Oh well, that aside.
It was weird seeing the whole class again today, with our class attendance for the last few days on an average of.. let's say, 20?
We have 42 people in the class by the way.

And I can proudly say that I was present for the whole week (:
I knew alot of people were going to pon. That's why I wanted to come to school.
It's extremely quiet and conducive with a small class.
Maybe we should hire more teachers and have smaller classes.
It's way easier to pay attention this way, with less people around you TALKING SO LOUDLY during lessons.

I wonder how lessons in JC would be like.
Hmm.

Anyway, I went to study with Brandon at Rail Mall after school today.
I simply love that place. Problem is, it's not exactly very near to my place.
And it's gonna be even further from my new home in Sengkang.
It really sucks to know.

One bad thing about the o levels period is that you have to study extremely hard.
Another bad thing, is that you grow fat.

I know, people tend to shed some weight during stressful periods.
But what's happening to me is that all i do each day, would be to 1)study 2)eat 3)sleep.
Notice, that there isn't "exercise" in it.

In other words, I'm accumulating fats in my body.

What's more, they put Graduation Dinner on the day after our last paper.
That means that we haven't any time to, erm, slim down our bodies a little.
I'll look the chubbiest on that night, I swear.

And I'm going to keep the photos i take on that day for the rest of my life.

Oh, and I looked through my old posts in this blog.
My heavens, I spoke so much like a typical ahlian.
Ok, maybe not to that extreme, but really, I swear that the change is significant.

HELLO!

main band practice today was EMOTIONALLY DEMANDING.
Sir focused mainly on our CONFIDENCE LEVEL rather than our techniques and stuff.
oh my.
i died during Our Director.

and the bass drum in the recording sounded SO DAMN GOOD.

jealousy.

Merry Widow was so ever exciting!
if i were the audience,i would stand up immediately after the last note clapping like anything.

&Sir was so HIGH today!
started ever since he stepped into the band room.
he got so LOVEY DOVEY describing the slow part of merry widow,
like like,

i was emotionally drained by the end of Our Director.
i dint give my 100% for Dona Nobis Pacem nor The Merry Widow.

Band exchange with Bendemeer today.
so horrible,so horrible.

how could I,a section leader,have played so horribly in front of another band.

this was really, IS probably the most horrible, mortifying thing that could've EVER happened to me, when i was supposed to be calm, composed and poised.

If i wasn't needed anymore for the rest of the songs, I would have run out of the hall and hid under a paperbag all my life, only coming out for meals.

monica dint come,so i stupidly overestimated my sight-reading skills and went to take over her snare part.
it was the worst performance i've ever put up in my entire LIFE.

with all dignity stripped,i made my way to the timpani for Dona Nobis Pacem.
elaboration is NOT needed.

they were a really sociable bunch.

&we had to sight read THEIR competition piece.like why cant they sight read ours!

that small kiddo was so awesome,teaching me to sight-read like as if i were a primary1 newbie.
he hit the top of my cuteness meter and i had to pretend along that i dint know the rhythmn and notes of the song.
he offered to tap the rhythmn and even used a stick to point out the notes for me.

midyears are over and im rotting away at home.im quite proud of my results actually.-claps- though there's much room for improvement.all As and Bs but with 2cursed Ds.i just realised that when i was counting my L1R5 last night.missed my target by just one point.ohwells.but i should be grateful with my marks,judging that alot of people dint do very well.

since not many people read my blog anymore,rawr,cant be bothered to paragraph.

then there was the cat high band concert.the level of fun was so much higher than the RI concert.technically-wise,im not very sure.they played pirates of the carribean which we played like,manymany times.it was fun to watch other people play our own parts and criticise them.may be positive criticism ok!timpanist was awesome.though i couldnt really see.just heard.sadly,there wasnt any percussion ensemble.sobs.and they played can't take my eyes off you!the exact same some we played for our encore last year.though their gimmicks were much better,i felt.roslyn must be "why can't our band be like that?!" haha.the flautist was breathtaking.i watched him play his solo and i was like.omg is there even a possiblity that someone could play like that?!i applaud you!

summary: the cat high band concert was really,really good.

and there's this msg thingy that i got.which is really really freaky.i showed it to fels and freda yesterday.its like regarding the natural disasters and stuff.RAH,WE'RE GOING TO CHINA NEXT MONTH AND ALL THESE HAVE TO HAPPEN.omgomgomgomgomg.but im still excited heh.i dont think i'll bring txbks to study in e trip,like what majority of the sec4s say they're gonna do.i think i'll just bring my sudoku to accompany me on the plane.heh.

oh,oh RI concert was fantastic.
i can say it's worth my $10!
i think the saxophonist was especially GOOD in his playing!
the ensemble.

&yes,the percussionist.

he played the xylo solo for gallop,which i still need alot of brushing up on.
i APPLAUD him.
his rolls and the running notes were so clear and even,it caught my breath.
like,woah.

i bet he can play flight of the bumblebee without sweat :/

the percussion ensemble was also extremely well done!
GOOD JOB.

i can PROBABLY say that it was better than ours.IN TERMS OF TECHNIQUES.

anyway im off to bed now.
